STAFF
POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
Activity
Coordinator
Training position. Oversees
the camper activity assignments orientation and daily activities;
responsible for training and supervision of all activity staff;
works with director and division directors in planning weekly schedule.
Archery
Coordinator
Coordinates area of specialty, teachers archery classes,
maintains equipment and supplies. Must be certified as
N.A.A. Level 1 Basic Instructor. Minimum age: 18.
Assistant Cook
Helps with cooking meals and preparing snacks. Experience
in cooking for groups of 25-50 is helpful.
Cabin Counselor
Responsible for 6-8 campers, leading daily Bible
Explorations cabin devotions, cabin activities with own group; leads
or assists in morning activities; participates in planning and implementing
evening programs.
Camp Nurse
Responsible for dispensing camper and staff medications,
being available for "emergencies' from cuts and scrapes to home-sickness;
administering first aid and TLC. RN/LVN/EMT.
Canoeing Instructor
Teaches daily
canoeing class; supervises divisional waterfront activities at Jenks
lake. Must be skilled in canoeing and certified in lifeguarding.
Cook
Responsible for preparing meals and snacks (100-150
people). Gives direction to Assistant Cook and Kitchen
Aides. Previous experience is necessary.
Cookout Coordinator
Responsible for cookout training, coordination and
supervision. Organizes equipment and supplies and oversees the packing
of food for cookouts and overnights.
Crafts Coordinator
Coordinates area of specialty, teaches afternoon
activities, organizes equipment and supplies and is available as
a resource to activity leaders and counselors.
Division Director
Coordinates all divisional activities, staff and
campers; works with director in planning weekly schedule; teams
with other division directors in planning the All-Camp. Attend
DD planning/training meeting in May. Previous Cherith
staff experience required.
Food Service Manager
Training position. Coordinates the overall
operation of the kitchen; places and receives orders from vendors
(menus are pre-planned); trains and supervises kitchen staff. Previous
experience in cooking for large groups is necessary.
Kitchen Aide
Responsible for table-setting before meals, serving
during the meals and clean-up after meals. Open to adults
and high school students (minimum age 13).
Lifeguard
Lifeguards at pool and lake as needed. Must
be certified.
Mountain Bike Coordinator
Coordinates area of specialty, teaches mountain bike
adventures, maintains bicycles and equipment. Must be
Camp Cherith certified.
Outdoor Adventure Coordinator
Coordinates are of specialty, teaches activities,
supervises the nature center, organizes equipment and supplies for
activity leaders.
Tuck Shop Manager
Sells merchandise in the Tuck Shop (camp store),
restocks items as needed, records purchases on Tuck Sheets ("charge
accounts") and balances accounts.
Van Driver
Must have a current Class B driver's license. Assist
in camp as needed. Minimum age 25.
